mobispine.com Now Offers Free End-Consumer Service For Operator Independent Mobile Text Messaging
mobispine.com challenges mobile operators with a new operator independent service for mobile text messaging directly from mobile phones. The globally available service is free of charge.
(PRWEB via PR Web Direct) August 12,
2005 -- Mobile Trends Europe AB is now offering mobispine, a free operator
independent service for mobile text messaging. The mobispine concept (www.mobispine.com) brings a
completely new attitude to the ever-growing mobile instant messaging community.
The tool for personal communications of the younger generation has become not
only incredibly cheap, but also friendlier, more capable and definitely more
fun.
Compared to an SMS or MMS, mobispine is approximately 100 times
cheaper -- a text message only costs approximately 0.001 EUR, and an image
message is available for less than 1 eurocent. The mobispine service is offered
free of charge to the end-consumer. The only cost associated with mobispine is
the data traffic charge (charged by the operator), which is more or less
negligible at normal transfer volumes.
"Our main objective has been to
create a service that is easy to use and install for ordinary people. Even the
best idea fails if it requires a specialist to set up the service. To attract
the mass market, we offer the service free of charge," Mobile Trends CEO Joacim
Boivie says.
Mobispine is very easy to sign up and get started. The
service is independent of telecom operator and geographic location, and the only
requirements are an internet connection from the mobile phone, via GPRS or 3G
(UMTS), and that the phone supports Java MIDP2.0. All major mobile phone brands
are supported, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and
Motorola.
Mobispine takes full advantage of the new technology available
in the mobile networks and the telephones. The service is based on Java and
Internet technologies and has a unique plug-in architecture for allowing new
services to be easily implemented. Mobispine Instant Messaging is the first
application on this platform and will shortly be followed by a number of new,
personalized information services.
There has been a big interest in the
service from the market, and the company already has a number of signed
contracts with information providers and an ever-increasing number of users.
"With our unique product, I expect a very dramatic growth within the
coming months," Director of Sales Joakim Hilj says. "Content providers are
discovering that they finally can add personalized mobile services at a very low
cost compared to SMS," he continues.
