Fratelli Ravioli Opens New Brooklyn Location
Court Street Site Of Original Fratelli Ravioli Shop Becomes Home For New Franchise Location
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) January 16, 2005 -- For Ysabel Suarez of Brooklyn, New
York, what started as a summer job 12 years ago when she was just 16, has now
become a full-blown career and dream-come-true. Last week Suarez opened her own
Fratelli Ravioli Shop and Café at 347 Court Street in Brooklyn at the site of
the original Fratelli Ravioli Shop, which opened in 1978.
Suarez’s work
with Fratelli Ravioli began as a teenager when she stopped in for a loaf of
bread one afternoon, began chatting with the store’s owner, Raymond Vivola, and
left with her first job. “Mr. Vivola hired me, showed me the ropes, and made me
feel like family,” said Suarez. “In fact, he made everyone who walked into the
shop feel that way. That’s still how we run things today.” Suarez, who studied
finance at Hunter College, worked part-time at the Court Street shop for over
twelve years. When the company made the decision to turn the shop into one of
their successful franchise locations, she and her brother Carlos Suarez, with
whom she co-owns the shop, were the first in line to purchase it.
“We
couldn’t ask for a better person to own this store than Ysabel,” said Christian
Vivola, co-founder of Fratelli Ravioli Franchise Group. “She’s been with us a
long time and really understands what the Fratelli brand is all about—quality
and service.” Vivola, who recently oversaw the complete renovation of the new
shop, including the addition of a 20-seat outdoor café area, runs the company
with his brother Larry. The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce recently honored the
Vivolas with their Entrepreneurs of the Year award. The Court Street shop marks
the opening of the fourth franchise location the company has launched since
2001. There are two more franchise units scheduled to open this year in New
Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Suarez’s Fratelli Ravioli Shop offers fifteen
varieties of homemade ravioli and eight varieties of linguini, fettuccini, and
angle hair pasta, all made from only the finest and freshest ingredients. The
shops also feature fresh mozzarella, an espresso bar, bakery items, and a
complete array of packaged Italian specialty products. Suarez say’s she’s seeing
lots of old faces from around the neighborhood, as well as plenty of new
customers stopping by to try her ravioli.
