Shuck and Sip at Carafe's 2nd Annual Pacific Oyster & Muscadet Tasting
Sweetbreads in January; Valentine's Dinner featuring Quail and Foie Gras
(PRWEB) January 16, 2005 -- Kumamoto, Belon and Olympia are some of the
oyster varietals to savor at Carafe Bistro’s 2nd annual Oyster and Muscadet
Tasting on Sunday, February 6, 2005 from 3-6 p.m. More than 15 different oysters
will be paired with six Muscadets from different winemakers in France’s Loire
Valley. Admission to the tasting is $24 per person and includes a flight of
oysters on the half shell. Muscadet tastings are $4.00 per 3 oz. taste or $7 per

“We are always surprised at how different each
oyster variety tastes,” says Pascal Sauton, chef and owner of Carafe. “Shucking
oysters and sipping Muscadet is one of my favorite French
traditions.”
Sweetbreads in January:
Sweetbreads return to Carafe as a
special on the menu for one week from January 24-29th. The sweetbreads will be
prepared differently each day, including braising, poaching and sautéing.
Customers can also call Carafe in advance to request a special
preparation.
Valentine’s Weekend at Carafe:
A 4-course prix fixe menu
will be available featuring Fresh Hawaiian Prawns, Sonoma Foie Gras Terrine,
Butternut Squash Bisque, Roasted Quail, Trout with Dungeness Crab and Jamie’s
Valentine Dessert for two prepared by Carafe’s pastry chef, Jamie Bell. The
Valentine’s menu is available February 11, 12 and 14th for $69 per couple.
