Walk California continues promoting walking as a lifestyle in their 3rd Annual Walk-luck celebration taking place in San Francisco, California on September 18, 2005. The tagline for this year’s event is, “Learn to Walk Again”
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 12, 2005 -- Walk California, the state’s
premier walking and hiking and organization is celebrating their third year of
existence with the annual “Walk-Luck” celebration taking place on September 18,
2005 in San Francisco at the historical military site, Fort Miley.
The
tagline for this year’s event, “Learn to Walk Again”, playfully promotes the
idea that Americans, while maximizing the number of miles driven in their
automobiles, have simply forgotten how to walk. Walk California is here to help
and makes a relentless effort to initiate organized walking events while aiding
and encourage people from all walks of life to schedule their own neighborhood
walks. In the past three years, Walk California has posted hundreds of walking
and hiking events on their organizational calendar, while 1000’s of smaller,
informal “buddy” walks have taken place.
Scott Blumin, founder of Walk
California says, "Our commitment to walking as a lifestyle is very real. To this
end, we schedule walking events almost every day of the week, across the state
of California. One of our primary goals is to encourage sedentary folks to start
incorporating walking into their daily lives. Whether that means a walk to the
corner grocery, or a scheduled walk with their neighbor around a nearby lake, it
is all a big positive for meeting individual health and wellness
goals."
