St. Charles Men's Conference Expands to Stadium
Growing local men's ministry holds conference at TR Hughes Stadium.
St. Charles, MO (PRWEB) August 13, 2005 -- Growing local men's ministry holds
conference at TR Hughes Stadium.
For the first time the annual Men's
Conference sponsored by Ministry to Men will be held outdoors at the TR Hughes
ballpark in O' Fallon, MO.
“We are hoping for 5,000 men,” said Charlie
Williams, Director of Ministry to Men, “we would love to see Father's and Sons
attending and spending time together.” This year's theme is “a life worth
living.” The conference has grown so much over the years that the ballpark
should provide enough seating to adequately handle the increased crowd
capacity.
Ministry to Men is a group of business and professional men in
the St. Charles County area who have come together to share their faith in Jesus
Christ with other business and professional men in the St. Charles area. The
group sponsors two county wide events, the Annual St. Charles County Prayer
Breakfast and the Annual St. Charles County Men's Conference.
“We have
numerous lunches and events throughout the county to present the claims of
Christ in a non-threatening setting,” said Williams. “We join together in prayer
and bible study to encourage each other in our own walk with the Lord and learn
more of what it means to be a follower of Christ.”
The featured speaker
for the event is Joe White- Author, coach and Missouri Native. Mr. White is the
president of Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, MO, and the founder of Kids Across
America. Each summer the Kamps host 20,000 campers and 2500 college-age and
professional staff. Mr. White is a former 2 year starting defensive tackle for
the SMU Mustangs and coach at Texas A & M University. He is a frequent guest
on Focus on the Family and Promise Keepers events and speaks at NFL football and
professional baseball chapels. Mr. White is the author of 15 books including
Faith Training and Pure Excitement, which was Gold Medallion Book of the year
for Teens in 1997. He is also a nationally recognized speaker for such events as
Promise Keepers.
The event begins Friday evening September 23rd from
6-9pm. It continues Saturday morning September 24th from 8am-12:30pm. Cost is
$10 per session before September 2nd and $15 per session after September 2nd.
