Innovative New Training and Development Program Introduced by Bottom Line Innovation Associates

New training program encompasses creative thinking to develop leaders of innovation.

(PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -- Bottom Line Innovation Associates, Inc. headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland announces its highly successful “Developing Leaders of Innovation” training and development program. Dr. Charles Prather, President and chief architect of the program said it has been serving clients for three years, and clients include Meadwestvaco Corporation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Sears Roebuck, DuPont, Dow Chemical, Air Products & Chemicals, and others. Dr. Prather, former Manager of the DuPont Center for Creativity & Innovation, said, “The most important need in innovation today is for trained leaders whose policies and practices enhance the ability and the willingness of all employees to think more innovatively as they solve everyday problems at work. Although there are a number of good programs that train people to think more creatively, this program is specifically designed for leaders and fills an important gap.” Prather further said, “The four tasks for leaders of innovation are to (1) Ensure alignment, (2) Set the environment, (3) Lead change, and (4) Create a self-sustaining culture of innovation. Without alignment, resources are wasted on unproductive work. Without a favorable environment, people are not motivated to more than the minimum to get by, and in innovation, everyone’s best thinking is needed. Without the leader creating dissatisfaction with the status quo and leading change to improve it, complacency will rule. Without a self-sustaining culture of innovation, innovation stops when the champion retires or leaves.”

“Developing Leaders of Innovation” is a two-day program, and participation is limited to 25 people. It is usually presented to organizations or specific teams because specific problems or issues common to all participants are addressed. Participants select a development partner who is also a participant, and together they create their own development plans, and hold each other accountable for plan execution.

Bottom Line Innovation Associates is about quality at the highest level. They are not simply trainers, but rather expert consultants who also train, using their great experience. All of the Associates have worked in industry as innovation leaders at high levels (for example, Laboratory Director at DuPont, Sr. Vice Pres of Technology at Ferro Corp, Director of Innovation Processes at DuPont, etc). All are true experts in innovation, having lived it themselves. Six of the seven Associates have Ph.D. degrees in science or engineering, and two are also professors in universities as well. One Associate is a certified Professional Executive Coach (ICF) and is Sr. O.D. consultant and brings the ‘human side’ to clients.
