Website Reunites Members of Adoption Triad Provides Hope and Support for Others
Website geared toward Illinois born adoptees reunites families and provides search and support assistance to others.
Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) April 7, 2005 -- Late in 2004, a woman in Connecticut
launched a simple adoption search, support and reunion website. Since that time,
she and her visitors have reunited three members of the adoption triad. This
number may seem low to some but when other factors are taken into account, one
realizes it is a huge success.
The website, known as ehbabes.com (http://www.ehbabes.com) was
developed by a woman who surrendered her child to an adoption agency in Illinois
known as Easter House. Initially developed in a selfish attempt to increase her
chances of reuniting with her surrendered child, it has turned into a passion to
help all individuals that were surrendered to or adopted through Easter House.
“All of us effected by adoption are like family. If the pain of surrendering my
daughter can somehow help others, it makes my pain a bit less.” says the website
owner.
The State of Illinois and the Easter House Adoption agency provide
little to no adoption search assistance. The State of Illinois does provide a
reunion registry and more recently has expanded its legislation to allow adopted
persons and those who surrendered them to obtain non-identifying information.
However, many triad members still struggle with incorrect or no information,
lack of funds to conduct a search and an overall lack of support. The EHbabes
website is intended to fill those gaps.
Claiming no association with the
agency, the site targets individuals interested in networking with other members
of the adoption triad and ultimately those who are interested in reuniting. The
site provides a registry; adoption related articles as well as a private email
list for members to share potentially critical search information. All members
of the triad benefit from visiting ehbabes.com
Jenny (Voight) Johnson,
born and adopted in Illinois in 1970, states she has “faced many road blocks in
communicating with the agency. The day that I found ehbabes.com, I was overcome
with great emotion --- ranging from comfort to immense relief. I now believe it
might be possible for me to overcome the difficulties associated with adoption
searches in Illinois.”
Gina Oaks surrendered her son to the agency in
1979. Since finding the ehbabes.com website she has felt a enormous sense of
peace. “I was so relieved to find ehbabes.com. I can only hope that through the
site, my son and I will soon be reunited. Ehbabes.com is the biggest blessing in
my search!” Gina stated.
Mary Garvens surrendered her daughter in 1984
and reunited with her in the Spring of 2005 with the help of ehbabes.com.“This
never would have happened if it weren't for ehbabes.com. I know where she is. I
know she is ok and I know I did the right thing because she is so loved by her
adoptive family.” stated Mary.
