(PRWEB) April 22, 2005 -- WHO: Marvin and Margaret Bush - Gladney Adoptive
parents of two beautiful children, Marshall and Walker, as well as brother and
sister-in-law to President George W. Bush. They will be serving as co-chairs for
the Gladney Cup weekend of events. Mrs. Bush will be available for interviews on
the weekend events.
Lyle Lovett - Lyle Lovett will be performing a
benefit concert for the Gladney Center for Adoption. Of all the artists who
emerged in Nashville’s mid-1980s whirlwind of experimentation, Lovett is one of
the few who have achieved an enduring, significant career while staying
constantly fresh and original. He has a fiercely loyal fan base, has sold four
million records and even has a second calling as a successful film
actor.
Kirk Triplett - Kirk Triplett will be playing at the 2005 Gladney
Cup Golf Tournament at Congressional Country Club. Kirk and his wife, Cathi,
have two adopted children, Alexis and Kobe. Kirk has been very active in
promoting adoption through the Fore Adoption Foundation and the Dave Thomas
Foundation. So, it is fitting that Kirk is involved in this wonderful tournament
which supports the Gladney Center for Adoption in its quest to find permanent
homes for children.
Mike McMahon - Mike McMahon has been president of the
Gladney Center for Adoption since 1988. He is the first adoptive parent to lead
the organization. Mike has two wonderful children, Claire and David, who were
adopted through Gladney. Mike promotes the Gladney Center's mission of finding
permanent home for children
Pat Green - Country Western sensation, Pat
Green, will be playing at the Gladney Cup Golf Tournament. Part of Pat Green's
success is his ability to straddle the thinking and the feeling, and his
appreciation for people. The man who's recorded duets with heroes Willie Nelson
and Jerry Jeff Walker isn't afraid to have fun with songs. Along the way, he's
garnered three Grammy nominations; had a Top 5 Billboard Country Single with
"Wave on Wave" and sold out the Houston Astrodome twice
The Gladney Cup
Weekend of Events will kick off with a concert performance by Lyle Lovett on
Saturday, April 30 at DAR Constitution Hall. The concert will benefit the
