Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- Comprehensive Health Education
Foundation (C.H.E.F.®), a leading developer of innovative prevention education
programs and products, announced today that Discovery Education, a division of
Discovery Communications, Inc., will acquire intellectual property rights for
several C.H.E.F. brands targeted to the school-aged-youth market.
As the
creator of the most widely-used youth prevention curriculum in the United
States, C.H.E.F. described the product sale to Discovery Education as beneficial
for both organizations. For C.H.E.F., it provides the non-profit organization
with an opportunity to expand its mission-focused work, continue to give back to
the communities within Washington state and nationally, and develop new
educational products. For Discovery Education, the largest and longest-standing
distributor of C.H.E.F.’s school-aged youth products, it represents an
opportunity to expand the reach and penetration of the highly-respected product
portfolio into schools utilizing the latest in video streaming
technology.
C.H.E.F. will transition six of its well-known prevention
education products to Discovery Communications, including the Here’s Looking at
You® curriculum, the Get Real about Violence® curriculum, the Get Real about
Tobacco® curriculum, the Get Real about AIDS® curriculum, the Youth Matters®
curriculum, and the Natural Helpers® curriculum.
According to Larry Clark, President and CEO of C.H.E.F., “We have enjoyed a
long and prosperous working relationship with Discovery Education, and take
great pride in knowing that both organizations will now have an even greater
ability to positively influence our nation’s youth by helping them live safe and
healthy lives.”
