Politicians in Abundance, But Where Are The Statesmen? The US Supreme Court Once Again Attempts To Rewrite American Christian Heritage, Policy and Foundations.

Charles Lyons, Ph.D. sees a significant absence of statesmen, men and women of character, who put the good of our nation ahead of political ambition and correctness a serious concern for America. “The ominous act by the US Supreme Court to declare the displaying of the Ten Commandments of the Bible to be illegal inside a courthouse is both shocking and grievous,” according to Lyons.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) June 27, 2005 – After hearing of the ruling of the Supreme Court decision concerning the displaying of the Ten Commandments in courthouses, Dr Charles Lyons, made the following statement: “The ruling today by the supreme court is a reminder of the arrogance of the liberal mind that presumes a position superior to God. The responsibility of the High Court is to apply interpretation of existing law, not to make national policy. It grieves me to see once again the court attempting to exceed the intention of the Founding Fathers of our nation.”

Charles Lyons, Ph.D., author of the book, “Daniel, A Commentary of Prophecy,” sees a correlation between a court that believes they have the authority to declare where the Words of an Omnipresent God can and cannot be displayed is not unlike rulers of the past who felt they could control access to God. He sees an even greater irony in that through this act, the Supreme Court is attempting to manipulate Americans through legislative activity when there is already a legislative branch of the government.

Dr. Lyons went on to say of the Founding Fathers, “They freely recognized that they were only men in the hands of a Supreme God. They placed into the constitution the freedoms and responsibilities to be able to openly proclaim this to be a free nation under God. This is a Christian nation. Others can come here and find freedom. However, that freedom does not endorse, encourage or legitimize moving our country from The One True God to a nation of polytheists worshiping everything and anything all the while attempting to outlaw the God of the Bible.”

In his book, Dr. Lyons makes reference to the challenges that Christians face and how they should react. Dr. Lyons stated that as disappointing as the court’s decision is, it should not for one moment frustrate or defeat believers of the God of the Bible. He also suggested that, “If the Congress and the President of the United States lack the authority to correct the Supreme Court when they make a grievous error, they should remember they still retain the right to enact new laws and within the budgetary process control the finances of the Supreme Court.”

Citizens of faith should not hesitate to pray, seek God’s direction and to stand for what they believe in. The example of Daniel of the Old Testament is clear for Christians today. Dr. Lyons noted that although Daniel was living in a land as a captive he never questioned his responsibility to openly live his faith. When praying to God was outlawed, Daniel prayed. “The disappointment of the justices ruling that the Ten Commandments are inappropriate in the courts of this land will never stop believers from entering those same courts with the law and the grace of God written on their hearts,” according to Dr. Lyons.

Dr. Lyons is the author of two books, “Daniel a Commentary of Prophecy,” and “Losing Your Head Without Losing Your Mind!” The second book chronicles the life of John the Baptist, another historical Bible character who stood up boldly when wrong was portrayed as right. Dr. Lyons holds degrees in both religion and psychology and has previously worked in law enforcement, the Federal Government and most recently on staff at one of the largest churches in America.
