29-Year-Old CEO Applauds Tom Cruise and asks, 'Oprah, Can I Jump On Your Couch?'
CEO, Sharifah Hardie, vehemently applauds actor Tom Cruise’s statements on 'Oprah' and 'The Today Show' and adamantly blasts today’s leaders.
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2005 -- Sharifah Hardie, a 29-year-old
writer, CEO and single mother, says she has recently made a stand on Tom
Cruise's behalf and wants to take today's leaders to task.
She adds, in a
soon to be released magazine article for African American Woman, “Tom is right.
Although I do not agree with Scientology in its entirety, I don't believe you
have to join his religion in order to understand his views. Isn't it time we all
became passionate about life? If it takes jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey's
couch to get people's attention, then somebody needs to start jumping up and
down."
The twice married, single mother of two wants to remind our
leaders that the people are going through hard times.
"We have death and
destruction in the streets," she said. "We are sending our sons and daughters
off to die in foreign wars, we are unable to feed our children, pay our bills,
we are in massive amounts of debt, divorcing, getting laid off, our factories
are closing, employees are being laid off by the millions and we can't afford
the gas it costs to get to work. So it's at times like this that laughter is the
best medicine."
She goes on to say, “So many of our churches have rich
thousand member congregations, reverends with multiple million dollar homes and
government officials that commit white collar crimes and walk away. These are
the same people who should be teaching us to become CEO's, start our own
businesses and create jobs so the entire economy doesn't suffer. They should be
applauding Tom Cruise's happiness. After all isn't love the greatest gift of
all? Didn't Luthor Vandross leave us with his legacy reminding us of the power
of love? Or is it just a reflection on today's society where anyone who is too
happy is out of the norm? Well, I say, 'come on everyone get
happy!'"
“Tom understands that it is the way we react to the experiences
in our life that shapes our future. If we choose to be depressed, we will wind
up depressed and institutionalized. We will be too medicated to even see that we
have a voice, that we can stand up and make a difference. This is still America
and we still have the right to free speech and to our own beliefs. Tom has just
made the conscious decision to be happy, joyful and successful. Maybe if we all
focus on having the same attitude, we could infect everyone with our joy and
generate the same contagious magic.”
