We Are Resolved Not To Live In Fear of Terrorists Declares Akeem Shomade the author of The Fear Factor
While maximum fear is the terrorists' main goal, Akeem Shomade, author of the Fear Factor, provides practical strategies for dealing effectively with dread.
London, England (PRWEB) July 21, 2005 – "We are resolved not to live in fear
of terrorists," declares Akeem Shomade, author of "The Fear Factor. "We are to
exercise self-control and be alert. resisting this real enemy by standing firm
in faith."
His message resonates even as London saw a second attack
today.
On July 7, as Shomade dropped his son off at school, he heard word
of some sort of explosion in the London Underground. He had no idea the extent
of the bombing, encompassing three tube stations and a double-decker
bus.
"Little did I know that it was a barbaric multiple terrorist attack,
designed to kill and cause maximum terror to our city," Shomade said. "Many
people in my locality were filled with anxiety and fear for the safety of their
friends and loved ones mainly because we live in close proximity of the affected
areas – Kings Cross, Moorgate, Liverpool St and Aldgate East."
The noted
author and commentator saw one silver lining in the chaotic events of the
day.
"I am now fully convinced that friends and families really care for my
family because calls were coming in from as far as the USA, Africa, and other
parts of United Kingdom, as my loved ones wanted to ensure that my family was
safe," he said.
Now, he's calling on all people in the United Kingdom to
be self-controlled and alert, as came to his mind while reflecting on a passage
from 1 Peter in the New Testament. That verse, Cast all your cares on Him
because He cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil
prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him,
standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers the world are
undergoing the same kind of sufferings” 1 Peter 5:7-9 is the basis of his
call.
Shomade is calling on his fellow citizens not to jump into
conclusions or take the law into their hands by persecuting people who are
innocent or who share the same race as the alleged perpetrators.
Shomade
knows about ways to deal with worry, having authored a book called "The Fear
Factor," which presents proactive, Bible-based techniques for overcoming fear.
It's filled with wisdom, insight, and practical self-help solutions for taking
back control of your life. For those interested in knowing more about how to
