Congressmen Insert Documentary ‘WE BECOME SILENT’ into the Congressional Debate on Free Trade and Codex
Two U.S. Congressmen confirm that WE BECOME SILENT, a documentary by international award-winning filmmaker Kevin P. Miller, was a critical part of the debate in Congress leading up to the CAFTA vote.

documentary to explain the threat to medical freedom during the hotly contested
vote on CAFTA, it was revealed this week. As both sides jockeyed for votes,
anti-CAFTA forces led by Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) showcased WE BECOME SILENT,
a documentary by international award-winning filmmaker Kevin P. Miller. The day
of the CAFTA vote, 30-35 Congressional aides attended a screening of the film at
an event sponsored by The Liberty Committee (www.thelibertycommittee.com).
Almost simultaneously,
Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) entered the transcript of Miller’s film
into the Congressional Record, saying that WE BECOME SILENT clearly defined “the
potential effects of the Codex Alimentarius Commission's guidelines on vitamin
and mineral supplements." With its’ entry into the Congressional Record, WE
BECOME SILENT will forever be immortalized as part of the debate on medical
freedom of choice.
Filmmaker Miller did not expect such an immediate
response to his film, he said, but he was hopeful that he could impact the
debate and explain these complicated issues to consumers in a way that they
would understand. “I am humbled and honored that these two distinguished
Congressman included my film in the important debate on free trade and Codex,”
he said. “But I am really most grateful to have produced a film that people
worldwide responded to in such positive ways. We all need to pull together and
ignore the toxic lies emanating from those who are trying to divide the
alternative medicine movement." Miller also encouraged people worldwide to take
action by "educating friends and neighbors about the threats to health freedom
not only via Codex, but also in domestic legislation invloving dietary

Miller produced the film under threat of lawsuits from one so-called ‘health
freedom’ organization who tried unsuccessfully to control the message of the
film itself. The award-winning producer stood firm, and produced the film based

support for both Miller and his film.
