San Diego Rock Band Switchfoot Proves Conscious Rock Star is Not an Oxymoron in Risen Magazine
San Diego rock band Switchfoot tells all in an interview in Risen Magazine, on newsstands now.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB via PR Web
Direct) July 15, 2005 -- While crisscrossing the Mississippi River and
Northeast Coast on tour this summer, Rock act Switchfoot's consciousness graces
the pages of Risen Magazine, on newsstands now. The band's popularity and
influence is not to be denied and their lyrics reflect their down-to-earth and
thought provoking comments in their one-on-one interview with Risen's Senior
Writer, Chris Ahrens in the July/August issue of Risen Magazine.
The San
Diego based rock band is gearing up for the release of their latest record,
"Nothing is Sound," due out September 13th. The five musicians, Jon Foreman
(vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass, vocals), Jerome Fontamillas (keyboards,
vocals), Drew Shirley (guitar) and Chad Butler (drums) are as comfortable in
front of Risen's photographer, Aaron Chang as they are now performing in front
of thousands of fans. The interview is riveted with authentic moments as the
band navigates between two realities; rock star and man while striving for the
best. Jon Foreman illustrates this dual role in his interview in
Risen,
"I remember distinctly getting offstage and there are 2,000 people
screaming More, more…You walk backstage and it's just you, in the back of the
bus with a sweaty T- shirt…"
Luckily the fans get the awesome
contribution Switchfoot is making to music, as demonstrated by their fourth
record, "The Beautiful Letdown" being certified Double Platinum for sales of
over 2.6 million copies.
Risen Magazine, a cultural collage of original
interviews, photographs and the search for truth; the inner truth of the artists
and icons featured, is breaking new ground. It seeks not the same old, tired
stories of the famous; Risen digs for their personal search for meaning in a
confusing world. Risen is also known for it's exploration of truth in terms of
values, in religion and the secular world. Like Risen Magazine, Switchfoot has a
big goal for the band: "to get people to ask big questions," said band member
Tom Foreman in this exclusive interview for Risen Magazine.
While many
bands might take a little time to bask in their accomplishments, Switchfoot
isn't one of them. They continue to climb the charts and make fans rock and
think at the same time; quite an accomplishment. Switchfoot is appearing on
07/15/05 at the Sonshine Festival in Wilmar, MN and on 7/22/05 for the Naval
Concert Series in Norfolk, VA. Please check Switchfoot's Web site at www.switchfoot.com for
additional dates.
Switchfoot's interview and exclusive new photos are
available now through Risen Magazine's, unique build your own magazine feature
for 99 cents at www.risenmagazine.com or on newsstands throughout the
country.
