Key Industry Leader Will Help Build the Industry’s First-ever Lifestyle Magazine for Veterinarians
Los Angeles, CA(PRWEB) July 9, 2005 -- Dr. Peter Weinstein, MBA, a leading
advocate and leader in the veterinary industry, has joined VETZ Magazine as
chief operating officer and will be responsible for helping to build the
industry’s first-ever lifestyle magazine for veterinarians. Dr. Weinstein will
focus on business development, business operations and strategic business
alliances for the company.
VETZ Magazine launched its premier issue in
May with a first-ever lifestyle magazine aimed at bringing solid answers to the
veterinary profession in practice management, HR, legal and marketing.VETZ
Magazine offers the most up-to-date, impactful information available today to
influence a healthy balance between a veterinarian’s lifestyle and
practice.
“I am thrilled to join VETZ Magazine as chief operating
officer. I have been in the veterinary industry for more than 20 years and I
have never seen a publication like VETZ that really speaks to a veterinarian
about the balance between work and life,” says Dr. Weinstein.

Magazine will be circulated four times a year climbing to eight issues a year in
2006. The next issue will be summer 2005 and dubbed “The Technology Issue.” VETZ

About Dr. Peter Weinstein
Dr. Weinstein attended Cornell
University before moving on to the University of Illinois to receive his DVM.
After graduation, he worked as an associate for a few years before opening his
own practice.
While running his practice he identified a real need for
enhanced business acumen to truly make his practice successful. So, while
managing and practicing full time, he attended night school to receive his MBA
from the University of Redlands.
Besides being a practitioner, Dr. Weinstein
was also a practice management consultant with Catanzaro and Associates
(nationally) and PAW Consulting (regionally). He served as President of the
Southern California Veterinary Medical Association and President of the
California Veterinary Medical Association. Additionally, Dr. Weinstein is on the
Board of Directors of the Schnurmacher Foundations, a charitable
trust.
In September 2000, Dr. Weinstein stepped away from clinical
practice to work full time as a practice management consultant and to run
Veterinary Practice Consultants Brokerage®, a veterinary specific job placement
firm that assists veterinarians find new associates and new associates find
jobs. In September 2003, Veterinary Pet Insurance hired Dr. Weinstein to oversee
their Claims Department as the Medical Director. In May 2005, Dr. Weinstein
returned to business consulting with his vision to: “Make the veterinary
profession a better profession for all those working in it now and for all those
who will work in it in the future.”
