Sunday 10 July will be devoted to klezmer
Sunday 17 July will be
devoted to orthodox rock
Sunday 24 July will be devoted to reggae
Sunday
31 July will be devoted to hip hop
As well as being broadcast live on
Sunday between 3.30pm and 4.40pm (UK time) by London's first radio art station
Resonance 104.4fm, the shows can also be heard through a special webcast on the
Resonance website at www.resonancefm.com
"We've been broadcasting our show
on Resonance for 18 months and in that time have had literally hundreds of great
world Jewish music CDs, so we thought for July we would put together some
specific music genre shows featuring the best Jewish music and musicians playing
Jewish music around," said SomethingJewish show co-host Caroline
Westbrook.
"We are dedicated to raising the awareness of Jewish music and
we hope through these special themed shows, that listeners will get a taste of
what is really great and go out and discover more about the performers,"
Westbrook added.

the best in Jewish music. From 1920s Yiddish theatre classics to the latest in
modern Jewish rap, the radio show has been gathering a regular and loyal
following across the world via its web broadcasting. The SJ Show also features
interviews and live studio guests which reflects its policy of showcasing the
rich diversity of Jewish music and arts.
As well as getting e-mails from
listeners in the London area where the show is broadcast, e-mail has been coming
in from the USA, Norway, New Zealand and South Africa from people who are
listening in.
