Program Helps Divorced Parents Put Children First
Jennifer Viemont, President of Deliberate Living, is now offering Co-Parent Coaching for divorced and divorcing parents.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) March 10, 2005 -- Jennifer Viemont, President of
Deliberate Living, is now offering Co-Parent Coaching for divorced and divorcing
parents. According to the United States Census Bureau, an average of one million
children are involved in new divorces each year. As a result, 20 million
children under 18 years of age are currently living with just one parent. A
Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Life Coach, Viemont has developed coaching
programs to meet the needs of the children in these stressful circumstances.
Co-Parent Coaching assists parents in creating situations that will
reduce the long lasting and damaging impact that divorce can have on the lives
of their children. It helps children to deal with the painful divorce
experience, which has been proven to have a long-lasting and damaging impact on
their young lives. Viemont explained, “Divorce is a traumatic life event for
parents and children -- if not dealt with early, the damage is often
irreparable. And while I have found that most parents want what is best for
their children, those good intentions often get lost in their hurt feelings and
resentment.” Viemont states that deliberate planning and a collaborative effort
on the part of parents is critical, since a healthy post divorce situation
doesn’t happen on its own.
Co-Parent Coaching helps participants create
and implement action plans that will build a healthy environment for their
children -- an environment that is conducive to healthy functioning. Both
parents participate in individual and joint sessions to develop a co-parenting
plan. After a plan is agreed upon, coaching continues through the implementation
of the plan and helps identify and remove obstacles that arise. Through the
process, the best interest of the children remains a priority for both parents.
Viemont also offers Individual Divorce Coaching, an alternative for
individuals in situations where working together isn’t an option. This type of
coaching seeks to improve parenting skills, deal with ex-spousal issues, and
implement goal setting -- all of which ultimately build self-confidence and
self-esteem.
Viemont’s services are not limited by geography. All
coaching sessions for Individual Divorce Coaching and Co-parent Coaching are
conducted over the phone, enabling her to accept clients
nationwide.
