Sufi Holy Man Teaches Peace and Healing in U.S.
One of the Middle East's most passionate and long-time peace advocates visits Lake Arrowhead, California, July 18-22 to conduct free classes teaching peace through the holy Sufi way.
(PRWEB) July 15, 2005 -- Hundreds of Americans are waiting patiently to greet
and learn lessons of peace and healing from a spiritual guide. They will gather
in a ballroom in a resort at Lake Arrowhead the week of July 18-22 with great
anticipation, eagerly awaiting the chance to sit at the feet of a holy man and
absorb his teachings of peace, love, mercy, justice and freedom.
Although
this 70-year-old man is considered by many to be one of the holiest men on
Earth, and comes from the very cradle of Christianity in Jerusalem, he is not a
Christian. He is a Muslim, and a Sufi. He is Shaykh Muhammad Said al-Jamal
ar-Rifa'i ash-Shadhuli, affectionately called Sidi by his seven million students
world-wide. And when this humble servant of God enters the ballroom, he brings
the pure light of God with him that is rarely seen in other religious leaders,
say his followers.
Usually modest, humble, and gentle in his manner, Sidi
is roused to passion when speaking of his work for world peace. He is vehemently
against war and killing, destroying homes, preventing aid from reaching the
needy, destruction of natural resources, and imprisoning innocent people. He is
a passionate advocate for world peace, the unifying force of spiritual love,
mercy, justice and freedom for all people everywhere.
His audiences say
that just listening to him speak can be an inspirational and healing experience,
and that his message of peace from the Middle East gives hope for real and
lasting world peace.
This extraordinary man and spiritual guide is
scheduled to lead special classes for healers and peacemakers to help translate
Sufi concepts of peace into practical life skills. All are welcome to join
Sidi’s classes; enrollment in The Jaffe Institute Healing School is not
required. There is no charge for the classes for first-time students, but
donations are accepted.
The classes are scheduled during the Jaffe
Institute’s summer Healing School session July 18-22, 2005, which is held at the
Lake Arrowhead Resort in Lake Arrowhead, California. For registration details,
please visit the Jaffe Institute’s web site at www.jaffeinstitute.org.
ABOUT SIDI
Sidi’s advocacy
for world peace began with his forefathers. He is a descendent of the Prophet
Muhammad through his ancestor, Shaykh Ahmad ar-Rifa`i. He was born in Tulkum in
the Holy Land in 1935. He is the spiritual inheritor through the Shadhili line
from his Guide and Master, Shaykh Abdu-r-Rahman Abu-r-Risah of Halab of Syria,
and has worked hard to keep Sufism alive as a school of thought and spiritual
knowledge. In 1997 Sidi restored the 1000-year-old Sufi Council that served in
the Holy Land. He has been a teacher and central figure at the Masjid al-Aqsa or
the Dome of the Rock for many years.
A retired judge, Sidi made his first
visit to America in 1994 and continues to accept invitations to visit the USA
each year to give seminars and teach at schools and centers across the United
States. Recognized by world leaders as an international spiritual guide, Sidi
was one of the primary speakers invited to the United Nations Millennium World
Peace Summit in August 2000.
The head teacher at one of the three holiest
mosques in Islam, Sidi is a prominent spiritual leader at the Al-Aqsa mosque in
Jerusalem, and is one of the best known spiritual leaders in the Muslim
community. He is also Head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Holy
Land, as well as a long-time advocate of world peace.
