Bush Shows Strong Lead on Israeli-Palestinian Issue. Point-By-Point Kerry Plan Absent.

Bush thunder rolls on. His national strategy for defeating global terror states that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict must be a "major component" of the US national plan. With his Road Map Initiative, he takes a strong lead on this issue. This effort for a just, two state solution can be supported by all Muslims. The Kerry campaign has presented no such major, point-by-point, national plan for this critical problem.

(PRWEB) September 15, 2004 -- President Bush's national strategy for defeating global terror states that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict must be a "major component" of the national plan because no other issue has "so colored the Muslim perception of us." And he has clearly declared his strategic objective for this region. For example in his weekly radio address to the nation April 20, 2002 he called on both Palestinians and Israelis to take action to end the current Middle East crisis. Here is how he stated his national strategy objective, an objective he calls a major component in his national war plan for defeating global terror:

"This week Secretary of State Colin Powell returned from the Middle East and reported on his intensive and productive meetings. ... In this region, we are confronting hatred that is centuries old, and disputes that have lingered for decades. Yet, America has a vision for peace, and by calling all the leaders of the Middle East to their responsibilities, Secretary Powell made progress toward peace. ... All parties must realize that the only long-term solution is for two states -- Israel and Palestine -- to live side by side in security and peace. This will require hard choices and real leadership by Israelis and Palestinians, and their Arab neighbors. ... The time is now for all of us to make the choice for peace. America will continue to work toward this vision of peace in the Middle East ...”

John Kerry has released no similar major, point-by-point plan. A Strategy Research Paper by Lieutenant Colonel Beech at the US Army War College shows clearly that resolving this conflict must be a top priority. Given the new situation, this can be logically extended to a requirement that it be massive and central. And this is what President Bush has done, when he made resolving the Isreali-Palestinian Conflict a “major component,” and he became the historical founder of the global liberty movement.

President Bush's global liberty movement is making the point clearly: all terrorism on innocent non-combatants is wrong, and the international community includes all people who are against terrorism on any innocent non-combatants. This is also condemned in the international Law of War, which all the nations of the UN have agreed to. So this is the point on which all agree: The killing of all innocent non-combatants must end. All Muslim leaders, if they are truly being honorable and just as they claim, will want to join the Bush global liberty movement, and proclaim their allegiance to global liberty - every state has a right to its liberty. The vast majority of states will be glad to get onboard, and all who don’t will lose their credibility. The USA, Israel, and even Palestine have already proclaimed their allegiance to the principle of global liberty, as the Bush thunder rolls on.

This is a strong war plan, and John Kerry will be very hard pressed to produce a better one, given the fact that President Bush is the creator of the global liberty movement. Historians will record him as the legendary father of this world changing movement. And this vital component of the Bush national strategy, of Bush’s "Operation Thunder," must not be dropped. At best Kerry can only acknowledge that President Bush is the undisputed founder of the critical global liberty movement, but he will somehow do it better.

So America needs a public debate on the best national strategy for defeating global terror. The Bush War Plan is 30 pages long. We have yet to see the “30 page Kerry War Plan,” ie., Kerry's specific, point-by-point, national strategy for defeating global terror. A public debate would help citizens better understand the candidate's national strategy for America.

To advance this public understanding, my online magazine, www.WarPlansDebate.AFreePress.com provides daily war plan updates, debate forum moderation, and war plan related links from the candidates, the US military, Israel, Palestine, and the rest of the Muslim world. Guest writers include priests, rabbis, sheiks, and US military officers. And President Bush and John Kerry will be called on to hold a public debate on their national strategy for America.
