Online Poker room, www.pacificpoker.com is giving online poker players the opportunity of a lifetime with the chance to win a seat at the fabled 2005 World Series of Poker. A special website for the occasion has been set up at http://www.pacificpoker-online.com/wsop/default.htm where full participation details can be found.
Gibraltar (PRWEB) May 20, 2005 -- Pacific Poker (www.pacificpoker.com) is
one of the world's most popular online poker rooms, but when it comes to real
life poker there is only one event – the World Series of Poker.
Thus it
should come as no surprise that the world's two biggest names in poker are
coming together at where Pacific Poker is offering seats to the 2005 World
Series of Poker.
Mike Herea, Promotions Department Manager for Pacific
Poker is excited about the joint venture. "The World Series of Poker is
unequaled by any other poker event in the world today and is a great stepping
stone for any on-line poker who wishes to make a mark in the off-line poker
world.”
“We have set up a website at http://www.pacificpoker-online.com/wsop/default.htm and all
those who yearn to play in the World Series should check it out."
The
chance to compete in WSOP 2005 has everyone buzzing. "In which other field could
nobodies hope not only to rub shoulders but compete with professionals? No park
baseballer could even dream about playing in the World Series," Herea
said.
The World Series of Poker competition is egalitarian to the extent
that it is open to those who at this stage don't even know a thing about poker.
"Those not familiar with poker may be intimidated by it, but it is a
relatively simple game to master" Herea said. "For those who wish to learn, the
doors of our online poker school (http://school.pacificpoker.com) are open twenty-four/seven and
class is always in session. It doesn't take long before the student is ready to
take on the world."
The myth making abilities of WSOP have only grown in
stature in recent time with the last few champions being previously unknown
online players.
At the 2004 World Series of Poker Greg 'Fossilman' Raymer
defeated 2,576 players to win the title and 5 million dollars after gaining
entry via an online poker site, for an original stake of $40. Pacific Poker
players can try their luck for as little as $5.50. “From their desk they can
make it all the way to Las Vegas,” Herea enthused.
Besides the entry
fee, Pacific Poker will look after the victorious player's travel and
accommodation expenses to the most prestigious event in international
poker.
"The winner of Pacific Poker's 2005 World Series of Poker
competition will receive $14,000 which consists of the $10,000 buy-in and $4000
towards their expenses. If this isn't enough, the winner will be put up at the
majestic Mirage Hotel!" Herea gushed.
The 2005 World Series of Poker is
to be held in Harrah’s Rio Casino in Las Vegas starting July 7, 2005 and the
last two days of the event on July 14-15 will be held at Binion’s Horseshoe
Casino in downtown Las Vegas.
Prospective WSOP entrants should be aware
that they must be 21 or over by the 1st June 2005. Players who are less than 21
years and who qualify for the WSOP Tournament will not be able to participate
and will not be refunded.
