Liberace is Back - an American Icon Ripe for a Renaissance
It’s not only the blue hairs that dig Liberace, now it’s generations X, Y, Z, gays and straights.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) June 4, 2005 -- An award-winning Hollywood Costume
Designer jumped on the vintage celebrity trendwagon (think: Marilyn, Elvis,
Lucy, James Dean) and created, I Love Liberace, headquartered in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
She cut a deal with Liberace’s estate, dug deep into the photo
archives and plucked the most outrageous Liberace images to use on superhip
fashion accessories.
“The I Love Liberace collection is witty, cheeky,
kitschy and definitely funky! We were intent on introducing Liberace to a
generation that hadn’t yet discovered the entertainer and his inimitable style.
There is a broad demographic appeal for this collection; there is that
generation that grew up with Liberace and is grateful for the memories, and then
there are the more recent generations that seem to fancy the high-camp-thing
that Liberace was so good at. ” explains designer and founder, Karan
Feder.
A portion of the proceeds generated from sales of the collection
benefit the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts. Liberace
established this scholarship fund in 1976 and has since granted over $4 million
in individual college art scholarships.
The I Love Liberace collection is
currently sold at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas, the Liberace Museum in Las
Vegas and online at www.ILoveLiberace.com.
