Celebrate the Arts Contest Sponsored by Bob’s Discount Furniture
The winner will receive a full year of cultural programming for his or her school
Manchester, CT (PRWEB) May 23, 2005 -- Bob's Discount Furniture, the
fast-growing New England furniture retailer, is running a contest to support the
fine arts and cultural arts in primary schools. "Celebrate the Arts with Bob's
Discount Furniture" will sponsor one winner's school for a full school year of
cultural arts assemblies. The contest runs from May 16, 2005 to June 6,
2005.
Elementary and middle school teachers, principals, PTO/PTA members,
and parents may register their school for a chance to win a year's worth of
cultural arts assemblies for the 2005-2006 school year by visiting a Bob's
Discount Furniture store, or via the Internet at http://www.mybobs.com/celebrate_arts/. Appropriate programming
and dates will be selected by the winning school and Bob's, with options such as
dance, music, theatre, and story-telling that provide cultural and educational
enrichment.
"Unfortunately, in many schools, the fine arts programs and
cultural arts assemblies are the first target of budget cuts. For many
districts, such programs have been eliminated entirely," said Cathy Poulin,
Bob's public relations director. "In light of this problem, Bob's has designed a
contest to help restore the arts to our schools."
"Celebrate the Arts"
is part of the 2005 "Bob’s Cares" campaign, designed to focus on the needs of
children and education. Building a better life for others is an important theme
of Bob’s charitable work. From helping Habitat for Humanity, to construction of
Liberty Safe Haven shelters for the homeless, Bob’s is a community leader. With
so many needs, and so many events, Bob’s employs two full time people working
continuously on charitable programs.
