Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 24, 2005 -- Ten Story Relapse has just announced the
upcoming release of its third album, “The Obvious Blindside.” Much like their
highly acclaimed sophomore effort “Frequency,” Ten Story Relapse continues to
explore language and music through the geography of relationships--charting the
making and the undoing of them.
Ten Story Relapse is clearly enjoying the
excitement of being an independent band on the verge of breaking through to a
wider audience. They’ve recently signed an agreement to have their music
distributed at Wal Mart stores nationwide via the new "Zvue" multi purpose media
player. Three advance demo tracks have been charting in the top 20 on
garageband.com (the largest independent music showcase website in the world).
Meanwhile, Podcasts and internet radio stations have helped propel the band to
an international audience via the internet. One internet site (Myspace.com)
reports that Ten Story Relapse has amassed over 18,000 fans in the last 3
months. In addition, MusicRebellion.com recently stepped in and has positioned
TSR as the featured artist on the front page of their site.
“To say that
we are humbled and energized by the response we’ve gotten would be an
understatement,” says the band. “We can’t thank everyone enough who has so
freely embraced our music and shared it with others.”
When asked about
the title of the new recording, the band issued the following statement: “The
concept evolved from several unknowns as we embarked on recording this
collection of songs...First, we had expanded our lineup, and we focused on
staying away from any pre-conceptions regarding how the project should sound.
Secondly, we worked hard to avoid getting hung up on stylism and we decided not
to shape the recording to fit into any specific category. In the end, we think
we found instrumental and thematic threads via the culmination of some happy
accidents. Several of the tracks hold hands from a sonic perspective and there
are characters and messages that roam from song to song. Ultimately, it was the
record we were supposed to make.”
Fans of “frequency” will notice a nod
to the last record via the first 20 seconds of “The Obvious
Blindside.”
The next live performance of Ten Story Relapse serves as the
band’s CD release party for “The Obvious Blindside.” The show is slated for July
23rd at Andrews Upstairs in Atlanta, Georgia.
