(PRWEB) June 22, 2005 -- Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi will change
roles and move from the ice to the microphone of her own ‘McCormick presents
Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family’ Show to be held October 25 in Albany, NY.
She will switch to show host and television analyst along with her friend
Olympic and four time World champion Scott Hamilton.
In New York
recently for the Olympic Torch Relay, Yamaguchi announced the expected birth of
her second child in November.
Unable to skate in October, Yamaguchi is
excited to announce the addition of good friend and competitor, two-time Olympic
Medalist (‘92 Bronze, ‘94 Silver), two-time (’91 Bronze, 92 Silver) World
Medalist Nancy Kerrigan to the lineup.
Kerrigan, who will skate in the
show in place of Yamaguchi and her husband, Jerry Solomon announced the birth of
their second child, Brian Solomon, born April 14 of this year. They also have an
8-year-old son, Matthew, and stepson, Clay, 16.
The show is a tribute to
Yamaguchi’s friends and families with all of the songs dedicated to the children
of the performing skaters.
Famed singer Kenny Rogers, who is the father
of twins, will also be performing live with the skaters in the
show.
Plenty of skating stars will appear on the ice at the Pepsi Arena
in Albany including Olympic Champion Ilia Kulik, two-time Olympic gold medalist
Ekaterina Gordeeva; four-time World Champion and Canadian National champion Kurt
Browning, along with three-time U.S. national pairs champions Jenni Meno and
Todd Sand and many more.
Representing the children on the ice will be
Daria Grinkova (daughter of Olympic pairs’ skating champions Katia Gordeeva and
Sergei Grinkov).
