Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- On Saturday April 30th, the John Evans Band's "Quicksand" Music Video was honored with a Platinum Remy Award for 'Best Rock' at WorldFest International Film Festival.

Over 450 filmmakers from more than 23 nations around the world were in attendance to personally accept their various awards from this year's WorldFest's competition which had received thousands of submitted category entries.

The music video of "Quicksand" was produced in Houston and Galveston in October 2004. It was shot on the Panasonic High Definition Varicam, and was directed and produced by John Frazier and Rollin' Films. The video is being commercially released early Summer '05 and will be available on DVD with bonus content to include "The Making of the Music Video" and more.

WorldFest is the world's largest independent film festival that evolved into a competitive International Film Festival in April 1968. It is responsible for discovering film greats Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ridley Scott, David Lynch, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee, Robert Rodriguez, the Coen Brothers and many others.

Circling The Drain, the recently launched full-length album on which "Quicksand" is featured, was produced by John Evans and Steve Christensen at the world famous SugarHill Studios in Houston, TX. With the addition of this prestigious award, the year is off to a great start for the John Evans Band who have launched the new album with national distribution and a mid-May North American radio campaign to over 700 stations in the United States and Canada.

Over the past three years John Evans has repeatedly beat out Houston’s top musicians at the Houston Press Awards to include Best Musician, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist three times and Local Musician of the Year, twice. An accolade that is representative of his constant metamorphosis as musician, songwriter, performer and producer.
