TheJohn Evans Band, Take The Platinum for the Music Video "Quicksand" at the 2005 WorldFest International Film Fest
Texas favorites, the John Evans Band, was honored with a Platinum Remy Award for their "Quicksand" Music Video in the Best Rock category at the 2005 WorldFest International Film Festival.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- On Saturday April 30th, the John Evans
Band's "Quicksand" Music Video was honored with a Platinum Remy Award for 'Best
Rock' at WorldFest International Film Festival.
Over 450 filmmakers from
more than 23 nations around the world were in attendance to personally accept
their various awards from this year's WorldFest's competition which had received
thousands of submitted category entries.
The music video of "Quicksand"
was produced in Houston and Galveston in October 2004. It was shot on the
Panasonic High Definition Varicam, and was directed and produced by John Frazier
and Rollin' Films. The video is being commercially released early Summer '05 and
will be available on DVD with bonus content to include "The Making of the Music
Video" and more.
WorldFest is the world's largest independent film
festival that evolved into a competitive International Film Festival in April
1968. It is responsible for discovering film greats Steven Spielberg, George
Lucas, Ridley Scott, David Lynch, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee, Robert Rodriguez, the
Coen Brothers and many others.
Circling The Drain, the recently launched
full-length album on which "Quicksand" is featured, was produced by John Evans
and Steve Christensen at the world famous SugarHill Studios in Houston, TX. With
the addition of this prestigious award, the year is off to a great start for the
John Evans Band who have launched the new album with national distribution and a
mid-May North American radio campaign to over 700 stations in the United States
and Canada.
Over the past three years John Evans has repeatedly beat out
Houston’s top musicians at the Houston Press Awards to include Best Musician,
Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist three times and Local Musician of the Year,
twice. An accolade that is representative of his constant metamorphosis as
musician, songwriter, performer and producer.
