Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB via PR Web
Direct) June 14, 2005 -- Major League Cricket Inc. (MLC)
in New York and Cricket Sporting Academy (CSA)
based in Aurora, Ill. announce the launching of the first annual Chicago
Under-15 Cricket Open tournament scheduled Aug. 1 – 7 in Aurora. The two
organizations hope to unify their efforts in development of the sport into
mainstream America. The Chicago Under-15 (U-15) Open is an ambitious endeavor to
have 10 teams with players 15 years old and under compete on a nationally
organized scale.
Bernard J. Cameron, president and CEO of MLC, and
Chidambar Joshi, founder of CSA Inc. (501(c)3) are proud to announce this
collaboration. Mr. Cameron noted that both organizations share common
philosophies and that the union strengthens positioning and effectiveness of the
development of cricket games and tournaments in the United States. He added
that this timely strategic partnership perfectly aligns with Phase I of MLC's
U.S. Cricket Roadmap to Success campaign unveiled earlier this month on June
5.
Tournament officials have noted that although the focus to enroll
American teams is a priority, some teams abroad have also been invited to
participate. Six teams have agreed to participate pending final confirmation.
The champions will receive the first Chicago U-15 Cricket Cup. Details of the
event have been published in a fact sheet available at www.mlcus.com.
MLC Events
has prepared a national public relations campaign. Included in the strategy is
the securing of sponsoring advertisers who would benefit by access to the
estimated over 6 million people (KBS Cricket Advertising report for 1999)
belonging to the diverse cricket loving community in the United States. In
association with MLC, CSA, founder of 10 cricket academy locations in the
Chicago area, will manage the administration of the tournament along with local
event logistics. The community event will be free and open to the general
public.
Registration packages will be available upon request only. The
deadline for entries has been extended to midnight July 1, 2005. For fact
sheets, flyers and complete up-to-date details, it is advised to contact the MLC
corporate office or keep an eye on the Internet at: www.mlcus.com and www.csaofusa.com.
