together for exhibition at New Orleans Palma Gallery, curated by Steven
Forster.
The Palma Gallery announces the opening benefit party on
Saturday July 2, 2005 of "A Blessed Event" benefiting the restoration of St.
Vincent de Paul Church where a tragic fire in 2003 destroyed the interior of the
historic St. Vincent de Paul Church located at 3053 Dauphine Street New Orleans,
Louisiana 70117.
The St. Vincent de Paul Church was constructed in 1866
(parish founded in 1838) and is now named Blessed Seelos Parish in honor of Fr.
Francis Xavier Seelos. The exhibition was curated by Steven Forster.
New
Orleans has been described as the most religious city in America and the
invitational exhibition reads like a who’s who in the New Orleans and national
art scene with works by Elizabeth Bick, Skip Bolen, Emery Clark, Sandra Russell
Clark, Adrian Deckbar, Steven Forster, Alexa Georges, William Greiner, Chris
Guarisco, Ronna Harris, Carol Leake, Charles Perrone, Walter Powers, Jr.,
Josephine Sacabo, Richard Sexton, Elizabeth Shannon, Mario Villa, Bev Wainer and
Paulette Whiteman. The show runs through July 23rd. Gallery Hours Mon. - Fri. 11
