Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 4, 2005 -- After Sundown Film Partners of Dallas/Fort
Worth has secured the world famous Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth – the world’s
largest honky-tonk – for the premiere of its locally produced independent horror
film, “After Sundown.”
Associated production companies, Windblown Films
of Fort Worth (www.windblownfilms.com) and ThinkTank Entertainment of Dallas
(www.thinktankenter.com) are underwriting the first public
screening of the film at Billy Bob’s at 7 p.m., June 7, 2005. General admission
is free for those having an official ticket, downloadable at www.aftersundownmovie.com/premiere) Seating will be on a
first-come-first-served basis. The cast and crew of the 90-minute film will be
on-hand for socializing and questions.
Billy Bob’s Texas is located in
the historic Fort Worth Stockyards at 2520 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth. The ticket,
when presented at Billy Bob’s, will give the patron free entry into the
honky-tonk and 25% of some food items.
Principle photography for this
North Texas “grown,” direct-to-video horror independent flick began in late
November at locations throughout the Metroplex, including Billy Bob’s and the
Beaumont Ranch in Grandview, Texas. The remarkably detailed western gothic mixes
modern-day vampires and zombies with American Old West characters in pitched
battles featuring viewer-startling special effects.
Starring in the
digital gorefest are Susana Gibb, Reece Rios, Natali Jones, J. Christopher,
Michael W. Brown, Jamie Amaral and Joey Galt. Horror fans also will see special
guest star and Texarkana native Jake Billingsley, now a McKinney, Texas
businessman, who was one of the most popular participants in CBS Television’s
reality series, “Survivor Thailand.” (www.survivorjake.com)
Christopher Abram is an Executive
Producer, the writer and one of the two team Directors of “After Sundown.” Abram
is known best as Executive Producer, Writer and Director for “The Fanglys,” (The
Asylum Distribution, Los Angeles) a micro-budgeted horror flick that has done
very well – selling an estimated 20,000 units nationwide – in its current home
video release. The accomplished actor and voice-over talent, a graduate of KD
Studios’ degree program, is listed on the Internet Movie Data Base (www.imdb.com).
“We wanted to
make a movie that was not just a throw-away, as so many other films in this
genre tend to be,” Abram emphasized.
The movie’s other team Director,
Tarrant County native Michael W. Brown, a regionally prominent, award-winning
theatre director, said, “This film is a serious effort to improve the
micro-budgeted horror movie genre.”
The home-grown aspect of “After
Sundown” extends to Keith Randal Duncan (www.imdb.com), the movie’s Producer and also an Executive
Producer, who is a Dallas native and 20-year veteran of film, video, theater and
the amusement industries. He is a member of the Dallas Producers Association and
the Texas Association of Film & Tape Professionals. Previous films to his
credit include “Ramming Speed,” “Dark Dealer” and “Something of Mine.”
The producers describe the film’s eye-popping plot as “an action-packed
story of a young woman who uncovers a dark secret, detailed in a diary found as
an old cemetery is relocated to make way for a new subdivision.
“She is
plunged into a gory battle with a predatory vampire from the Old West who has
the power to create undead zombie slaves that assist him on his search for his
vampire offspring. With the help of Texas locals, our heroine ends the growing
threat in a wild clash of vampires and zombies, sending the creatures straight
to Hell!” Abram said.
The premiere will be a fun, informal event.
Following the screening – and the screaming - review cards will be available to
attendees desiring to share their opinion of the film.
