Broken Arrow Assembly is breaking ground on its new 65,000 square foot facility for Phase One. Groundbreaking will be Sunday August 21 at 9am at the NE Corner of 101st Street South and 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
(PRWEB) August 13, 2005 -- Community leaders to gather for celebration and
groundbreaking. Leaders representing more than five decades of service to Broken
Arrow will attend.
Four community leaders who have served and influenced
Broken Arrow and the surrounding area will gather to celebrate and observe
groundbreaking of new facility of Broken Arrow Assembly on Sunday August 21 at
9am.
Groundbreaking celebrations will take place on the forty-acre site
at 129th East Avenue and 101st Street in Southeast Broken Arrow.
The
leaders represent more than six decades of service to the community and the
church family of Broken Arrow Assembly, presently meeting at 200 East Broadway.
The four living pastors scheduled to join the celebration are James C. Dodd
(1942-1978), Tom H. Goins (1978-1995), Kenneth McGee (1995-1998) and Michael
Goldsmith (1998-Present).
The church began meeting in 1912.
Broken
Arrow Assembly met for almost 90 years at 305 North Main. When plans for growth
were discussed the need for additional property was paramount. A forty-acre
tract of land was located in Southeast Broken Arrow. The property was purchased
in 1994 and debt retired in 1999. In 2003 the church traded facilities with
First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow and has been meeting at 200 East
Broadway.
The groundbreaking will launch Phase One of the Master Site
Plan for the forty acre campus. Phase One will feature a 65,000 square foot
facility to include a worship center, children’s and nursery areas and Christian
education areas.
Site work will begin in September. Architectural
services provided by SPARKS Architecture and Engineering, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Nabholz Construction will serve as General Contractor.
A countdown sign
indicating the number of days until groundbreaking is prominently displayed on
the corner of the church property. The church website (www.baassembly.org) features
a countdown to groundbreaking and highlights other information regarding
groundbreaking, construction and future plans for growth.
"God has been
faithful to Broken Arrow Assembly. The new facility will provide new and
expanded opportunities to fulfill the potential and vision God has for Broken
Arrow Assembly. When a church is firing on all cylinders, lives are changed and
God’s power is evident," said Michael Goldsmith, Senior
Pastor.
Groundbreaking celebration will begin at 9am under a large tent.
Music and video presentations will be presented identifying each decade of
leadership from the former pastors. Each former pastor will speak following the
video presentations. The highlight of the morning will be a groundbreaking
ceremony hosted by Michael Goldsmith, Senior Pastor of Broken Arrow
Assembly.
Casual and modest attire is encouraged for the outdoor
activities. Lunch and indoor activities for children will follow the event at
nearby Oliver Middle School.
The congregation will celebrate the grand
opening of the new facility February 2007.
