(PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- Grace Community Church in Bellevue will be involved
in a worldwide mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid™. For this project,
children attending Grace’s Serengeti Trek vacation Bible school will provide
school supply kits for needy children in Africa.
Operation Kid-to-Kid
will show kids that with God’s help, they can impact their world. Each child
will be responsible for bringing one or two specific school supply items, such
as steno pads, crayons, a pencil sharpener, or a ruler. Then small groups of
children, called Safari Crews, will gather their items to create identical
school supply kits. The kits will be shipped to World Vision, an international
relief organization, who will distribute them to children in Africa.
Because of children’s generosity, Operation Kid-to-Kid has grown to
become one of the world’s largest global outreach of children serving
children.
Past Operation Kid-to-Kid programs have allowed over a million
children in North America to send hundreds of thousands of hygiene items,
Spanish Bible materials, and shoes and socks to children around the world. (For
more information about Operation Kid-to-Kid, visit www.ok2k.org.)
Operation Kid-to-Kid is just one part of
Serengeti Trek! Serengeti Trek begins July 25th and continues through July 28.
It’s located at Grace community Church, 121 107th Avenue NE, Bellevue. The event
each day is from 9:00 AM until Noon. For more information, call 425-637-7729 or
