Pick Up a Chopstix and Roll the Dice at Chopstix for Charity’s “Masquerade in Macau”
Chopstix for Charity’s annual fundraiser will be at 6 pm on October 9, 2004, at Atlanta’s SunTrust Atrium. The event will include dinner and drinks, casino gaming, dancing and a silent auction for a night like no other. This year’s theme, “Masquerade in Macau,” brings the mystique of a masquerade ball to the exotic island of Macau, renowned for its spectacular casinos. The organization raises funds for Asian-American human services organizations, and is made possible through corporate sponsors, restaurant and prize donors, and supporting organizations. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $30-$50 online or $50 at the door.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 8, 2004 -- As Chopstix for Charity heads into
its seventh year, the planning committee expects to have the highest attendance
to date. Chopstix co-chair Amy Lin says, “We’re excited about this year and want
to take the event to a new level. Last year, we raised over $22,000 and donated
all funds to fourteen organizations, including the World Hope Foundation and the
Asian-American Resource Foundation.”
The event includes a full Asian
dinner buffet, drink tickets, casino gaming and dancing. As part of the
“Masquerade in Macau” theme, masquerade masks will be available for purchase.
Chopstix co-chair Ken Lee says, “Macau is known for its gambling, and we think
it’s an exciting theme, since the casino tables are always extremely popular.”
Live and silent auctions add to the affair, with some of last year’s prizes
including dinner gift certificates and plane tickets. Lee adds, “Chopstix is
truly a fabulous event, with something for everyone. We invite everyone for a
memorable evening out, while knowing it’s for a great cause.”
Chopstix
for Charity is in its seventh year and began as an event coordinated by the
Atlanta chapter of the National Association of Asian-American Professionals. The
event now has four other supporting organizations, including the Japanese
American Citizens League, Korean American Coalition, Network of Indian
Professionals Atlanta and the Georgia chapter of the Organization of Chinese
Americans.
The success of the event is made possible thru the generous
sponsorship of many corporations, restaurants and local retailers, including
corporate sponsors like UPS and Georgia Pacific, and buffet sponsors from
Atlanta’s best restaurants.
