African American Publisher Claims he Has Been Black Balled
Black American publisher forced out of business.
Bronx, NY (PRWEB) February 4, 2005 -- Bronx Village Publishers is going out
of business. The African American publisher claims they are being black balled
and have lost all access to Black American book retailers. According to Abdul
Malik, the publisher, “I have had people call some of our distributors and ask
for our latest title (“God Helps Those…” by Alan Cramer). In every case the
distributors have claimed they didn’t have any in stock. Yet when I have called
the distributors they claim to have the books in stock.
“I first became
suspicious when a street vendor appeared nervous and refused to take the book in
question. He carried a previous title by us, and promised to take this one. This
was after one of the distributors told me he had none of the books in stock when
he mistakenly took me for buyer. When I told him I was the publisher he said he
made a mistake and had books in stock.
“We will sell the remainders at a
70% non refundable discount and call it quits. The book (God Helps Those ISBN
0975320513) will be available through amazon.com until our stock is
depleted.
